About the role#

The Investments Intern supports the Investments Team at CAPREIT with analytical and administrative tasks related to real estate transactions. This role involves assisting with financial modeling, managing due-diligence processes, and coordinating documentation to support the acquisition and disposition of assets within the Canadian portfolio.

What you'll do#

• Assist the Investments Team in preparing proposals for the Board of Directors.
• Support the Senior Investments Analyst with NOI, IRR, and yield analysis for potential acquisitions and dispositions.
• Manage due-diligence checklists and review related materials as directed.
• Maintain deal sheets and organize files for ongoing and prospective transactions.
• Coordinate transaction-related communications, including distributing meeting minutes and timeline updates to relevant departments.
• Track quotes and invoices, monitor post-acquisition warranty items, and assist with administrative closing deliverables.
• Provide data gathering support for research reports and studies.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate, or Accounting.
• 0–1 year of prior experience as a summer intern in commercial real estate, finance, accounting, or a related field.
• A basic understanding of financial modeling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and work collaboratively with a team.

Location & details#

• Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Work Modality: Hybrid, with a requirement to be in the office four days per week (Monday to Thursday).
• Compensation: $20/hr – $25/hr.
• Employment Type: Full-time.
