Project Manager Intern

About the role#

Capital Electric Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Project Manager Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kansas City, Missouri. The role involves supporting project management teams through document control, technical coordination, and administrative assistance on electrical construction projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with drawing and document coordination, ensuring project files are organized and distributed to relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare essential project documentation including submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, and bid proposals.
• Develop and maintain project matrices to track RFIs, drawings, and change orders.
• Create drawings for the installation of electrical components.
• Interface regularly with architects, trade contractors, vendors, and internal management teams.
• Perform additional special projects and tasks as assigned.

What you'll need#

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a team-oriented environment.
• A valid driver's license, as this position requires driving.
• A working knowledge of electrical construction is preferred.
