The Early High School Student Advising and Program Coordinator provides academic support and college readiness guidance to 9th and 10th grade students. This role focuses on ensuring students are equipped for postsecondary success before entering their junior year. You will work within a team-based environment to manage student caseloads, facilitate programming, and foster community partnerships.
What you'll do#
- Provide academic advising and mentoring to a caseload of 45-60 students.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students and their families through holistic check-ins and regular communication.
- Support students in developing academic tools such as time management, study skills, and goal setting.
- Design, plan, and facilitate Saturday, school-based, and summer programming for students.
- Supervise and support an AmeriCorps member and manage volunteers.
- Build and maintain partnerships with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and community organizations.
- Track and analyze student data to inform program improvements and ensure persistence goals are met.
What you'll need#
- Experience in youth development and college access.
- Ability to provide high-quality advising services and build authentic relationships with diverse students and families.
- Capacity to design, lead, and manage programs and events.
- Proficiency in tracking and analyzing data to drive student outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a role that requires some evening and weekend hours.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, Public Health, Political Science, Business Administration, or Data Science.
