Student Teacher

About the role#

As a Student Teacher, you will apply pedagogical knowledge in a real-world classroom setting. Under the guidance of a certified mentor teacher and a university field supervisor, you will help plan, deliver, and assess lessons to support student learning and development. This position involves regular observations and feedback sessions to help you refine your teaching practice.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with your mentor teacher to plan and implement daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Instruct students in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings.
• Use various instructional strategies and technologies to support diverse learners.
• Assess student progress through formal and informal evaluations.
• Manage classroom behavior to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
• Reflect on teaching practices and incorporate constructive feedback.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a teacher education program.
• Completion of relevant coursework in pedagogy, child development, and curriculum design.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to student success and a willingness to receive constructive feedback.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in education.
