Co-op, Grid Integration

About the role#

BlueWave is seeking a fall co-op to join the Grid Integration team. This role focuses on supporting interconnection activities for solar and energy storage projects across multiple states. You will work closely with analysts to manage applications, estimate upgrade costs, and support the Site Acquisition and Development teams through strategic research and technical analysis.

What you'll do#

• Create, track, and manage interconnection applications for various projects.
• Participate in negotiations with utilities regarding project scope, timelines, and costs.
• Maintain accurate project data within Salesforce trackers.
• Manage utility customer portal systems on a daily basis.
• Coordinate with internal engineers and external electrical consultants on system designs and site plans.
• Conduct research on utility infrastructure to inform project development.
• Assist with interconnection strategy and coordinate internal payment processes.
• Maintain regular communication with utility personnel to ensure project progress.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, specifically in Excel.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft product suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
• Familiarity with Salesforce is considered a plus.
• Understanding of solar and storage project single line diagrams and layouts is preferred.
• Interest in utility infrastructure, state policy, incentives, and tariff implications.
