Intern (year-round) - Medicare Advantage Servicing

About the role#

This year-round internship provides hands-on experience within the Medicare Advantage Servicing department. You will support team leaders and analysts by managing reporting, coordinating team communications, and assisting with project-based tasks to improve operational efficiency. This role is designed to build your understanding of the health insurance industry while contributing to meaningful organizational projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist in preparing research materials to identify business problems and support management with solution implementation.
• Support leaders on projects aimed at enhancing organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs to ensure team alignment.
• Manage reporting, create huddle roll-outs, and provide support for BlueStar Rewards.
• Send out PEGA and Kudos communications.
• Assist analysts and project consultants with repetitive or time-consuming tasks.
• Participate in networking events, department meetings, and volunteer community outreach activities.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD program with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and internal systems.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential information and build professional working relationships.

Location & details#

• This is a paid, year-round, full-time on-site internship.
• The primary work location is Detroit, Michigan, with required travel to Southfield, Michigan, for in-person staff meetings.
• Sponsorship is not available for this position.
