About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site at a construction project location, gaining hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry. The role requires the ability to relocate to the assigned project site for the full duration of the program.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with site supervisory personnel to identify and remedy unsafe working conditions.
- Spend approximately 65% of your time in the field conducting audits, crew visits, and subcontractor visits to ensure safe work practices.
- Assist in the investigation of all accidents and near misses alongside trade superintendents and foremen.
- Accompany safety, health, and insurance inspectors on walkthrough tours and complete required documentation.
- Ensure the site team executes the safety program, including training, orientations, job hazard analyses, and daily field observations.
- Participate in company safety training programs, including OSHA 10 and OSHA 30-hour courses.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in occupational safety, health, environmental engineering, public health, industrial engineering, health administration, nursing, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
- Ability to relocate to the assigned construction project site for 12 weeks.
- Comfort working in environments with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and trailer office conditions.
