This is a DoD Skillbridge internship opportunity for active-duty U.S. military members with 180 days or fewer remaining before their date of separation. The role is based on a swing shift schedule from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM ET, which is non-negotiable. This position is fully remote within the United States.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and evaluate anomalous network and system events within a 24/7/365 Security Operation Center (SOC) using lead-less threat hunting.
- Collaborate with MDR Analysts to investigate emerging cyber security threats and serve as an escalation point for advanced intrusion analysis.
- Create incident analysis reports and coordinate across business units and customers to resolve issues.
- Design and improve operational processes to increase overall SOC efficiency.
- Provide actionable threat and vulnerability analysis for diverse customer environments.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of three years of experience in an information security role (relevant training or certifications may substitute for one year of this requirement).
- Previous experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC).
- At least one year of experience triaging endpoint events from EDR and NGAV, and supporting the Incident Response (IR) process.
- Deep knowledge of assessing threat indicators in a Windows environment, including malware, malicious anomalies, abnormal network activity, and root-level compromise.
- A robust understanding of at least two of the following operating systems: Windows, Linux, or OSX.
- Preferred majors include Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Data Science.
