Student Intern, Eng & IT

About the role#

This internship is within the Operations Technology (OT) department, supporting Energy Management System (EMS) operations and SCADA activities. You will gain hands-on experience with critical utility systems while working in an environment that prioritizes cybersecurity and NERC CIP compliance. This role is designed to help students transition from academics to the workforce through meaningful project work.

What you'll do#

• Provide engineering and OT support to maintain the reliability, availability, and efficiency of equipment and processes.
• Assist with design, evaluation, analysis, and troubleshooting for computer systems used in power transmission and distribution.
• Interface with engineering and IT staff, as well as plant operations and maintenance groups, to develop effective solutions.
• Participate in special projects and team assignments.
• Handle data entry, sample collection, and the preparation of reports and applications.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a full-time student in a college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
• Ability to provide proof of enrollment and academic transcripts at the time of application.

• Modality: On-site.
• Term: Year-round, rolling.
• Schedule requirements: 20 to 40 hours per week during the summer; 12 to 20 hours per week during the school year.
