BGIS is seeking a Seasonal Landscaper to join the team at Parc Downsview Park for the summer of 2026. This full-time, on-site role focuses on the development and maintenance of green spaces within the park.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and install ornamental gardens and seasonal planters, including watering, weeding, deadheading, and pruning.
- Assist in the restoration of a 2-acre perennial garden bed.
- Perform park sanitation duties.
- Provide staff support for outdoor events and stewardship activities.
- Support other areas of park operations as needed, such as turf care, urban orchard maintenance, urban arboriculture, and park infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation from a full-time post-secondary program related to horticulture, landscaping, permaculture, Human Resources, Agriculture, or Environmental Engineering.
- Current knowledge of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- A valid G license.
- Ability to work daily from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility for evening and weekend shifts as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Previous park labour or related experience is considered an asset.
