About the role#
The FP&A Intern position at Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies offers students the opportunity to gain professional experience in financial planning and analysis. Interns will work both independently and collaboratively, with the potential to present projects directly to company leadership. This is a paid, part-time internship with flexible scheduling options.
What you'll do#
- Complete analytical projects across various areas of the business.
- Compile data from multiple sources to prepare consolidated reports and documents.
- Assist in the development of internal controls and performance metrics.
- Conduct ad hoc internet research and prepare spreadsheets.
- Perform clerical tasks including data cleansing and organization.
- Provide insights regarding technological improvements and data presentation.
- Learn to use Excel, SQL, and Power BI to produce outputs for management.
- Assist in challenging existing processes and driving organizational change.
What you'll need#
- Minimum incoming Junior class standing in a four-year degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
- Proficiency with personal computers and software, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent grammar, proofreading, and oral or written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A punctual and professional approach to work.
Location & details#
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Students typically work 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year, with the potential for up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
