About the role#
The Research and Impact Measurement Teams within the ASPCA Strategy Vertical conduct program evaluation and original research to guide organizational strategy. This internship offers an opportunity to develop skills in leveraging data to create impact for animals. Interns will gain experience in how research and program evaluation guide decision-making in the animal welfare field, covering topics such as access to veterinary care, animal sheltering, and animal cruelty.
What you'll do#
- Assist with program evaluation, research planning, design, literature review, data collection, and statistical or qualitative analysis.
- Develop research communications plans for both field-facing and public-facing audiences.
- Learn and practice project management skills.
- Participate in webinars, conferences, and internal meetings with collaborating teams.
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic degree or certificate program.
- Proficiency with Excel, including spreadsheet formatting, sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- High level of maturity, professionalism, and the ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Academic background in fields such as Psychology, Public Health, Economics, Sociology, Statistics, Data Science, Human Resources, or Biology.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position open to candidates based in the United States.
- The internship is paid and lasts for one semester.
- The role requires 10 to 20 hours per week, with some availability required during Monday through Friday business hours for meetings.
- A laptop will be provided for the duration of the internship.
