Arcadia Science is seeking a Platform Fellow for a 3-month fellowship during Summer 2026. This role is designed for scientists in the final stages of their PhD or postdoc training who want to apply quantitative skills to evolutionary biology within an open science environment. You will work with the Platform team to build evolution-aware statistical and machine learning methods that support research across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Platform team members on a defined computational project aligned with research goals.
- Independently manage your fellowship work, including troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Maintain detailed documentation for all workflows, code, and analyses.
- Publish results openly and share all data, code, and methods by the end of the fellowship.
What you'll need#
- PhD in computational biology, statistics, machine learning, genetics, evolutionary biology, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R, with familiarity in bash and version control.
- Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, or phylogenetic methods.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
