Casual Student Attendant

About the role#

The Student Attendant position focuses on providing physical support to exceptional learners within the school environment. This role is of limited complexity and is distinct from Educational Assistant duties, as it does not involve academic instruction, tutoring, or classroom programming.

What you'll do#

• Attend to the physical needs of exceptional learners, including assistance with feeding, hygiene, clothing, and toileting.
• Provide care for catheterized learners.
• Support learners with transportation to and from school, community visits, and work locations.
• Assist learners with entering, leaving, and moving around school buildings.
• Use adaptive equipment and augmentative communication devices as required.
• Provide general supervision and support to learners throughout the day.

What you'll need#

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to understand and relate to exceptional learners.
• Willingness to undergo training to support learners with exceptional needs.
• Ability to respond to short-notice work requests.

• Locations: Fredericton and Oromocto, New Brunswick.
• Modality: On-site.
• Employment: Full-time, paid, rolling term.
• Requirements: Candidates must live within the school district boundaries or demonstrate proximity to selected schools.
