About the role#
As a Process Engineer Intern at Amphenol CIT, you will gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing and assembly processes for industrial products. You will work alongside experienced engineers to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges, document processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role provides exposure to sustaining engineering, new product introductions, and continuous improvement efforts.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the documentation of manufacturing processes for components, connectors, cable assemblies, and harnesses.
- Learn core product knowledge directly from Process Engineers.
- Support documentation compliance with Quality System requirements, including process validation.
- Create and maintain accurate work instructions for new product introductions under supervision.
- Conduct time studies and support the evaluation of time standards in collaboration with Manufacturing and Assembly teams.
- Observe and assist in new product introduction builds.
- Contribute to project teams by supporting various design and process engineering tasks.
- Perform basic maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated attitude with a desire to learn in a collaborative environment.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments through coursework, labs, or previous internships.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software is preferred.

- Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The role requires the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and remain in a seated or standing position for extended periods.
