Content Creator Ambassador (Student)

About the role#

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is looking for creative and outgoing students to join the Student Content Creator Ambassador Program. Ambassadors serve as authentic student voices, sharing their experiences to help prospective and admitted students understand life at American University. This part-time role involves collaborating with the Enrollment Marketing team to produce digital content that highlights academics, campus events, and student life.

What you'll do#

• Create original short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Capture photos and videos showcasing campus life, student organizations, and admissions events.
• Attend select university events to produce real-time content and event coverage.
• Participate in social media takeovers, Q&A sessions, and livestreams.
• Collaborate on content planning and monitor social media trends to recommend new creative ideas.
• Ensure all produced content aligns with university brand standards.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current American University undergraduate student (rising sophomore or above) in good academic standing.
• Strong communication and storytelling abilities.
• Proven experience creating content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube.
• Comfort appearing on camera and speaking directly to prospective students.
• Proficiency with video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Active involvement in campus organizations, athletics, or other student experiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Location & details#

• Location: Spring Valley Campus, Washington, DC.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Hours: Part-time, 5–15 hours per week with flexible scheduling including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Compensation: $18.40 – $19.00 per hour.
