About the role#
The American Psychological Association is seeking a Film Editing Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the development of short-form educational and promotional videos that communicate psychological science to promote child and adolescent well-being. This is a paid, part-time position expected to require 10 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Edit short videos using provided footage, graphics, and audio.
- Collaborate with staff to shape narratives from interviews and research content.
- Enhance viewer engagement by adding titles, transitions, and basic motion graphics.
- Optimize final video files for web and social media platforms.
- Organize and archive video assets to maintain efficient production workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Film, Television and Digital Media, Art and Design, Journalism, or Recording Arts and Production.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experience working with audio, B-roll, and interview footage.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a readiness to incorporate feedback.
- Preferred but not required: experience with animation, motion graphics, or familiarity with accessibility and captioning standards.

This position is remote. Please note that remote work eligibility is subject to approval and specific state restrictions.
