About the role#
The Automation Intern works with the Automation Team on various projects and tasks within a dairy manufacturing environment. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial automation, with in-house training provided. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm.
What you'll do#
- Monitor automated systems using a computer.
- Troubleshoot automation systems using various PLC programs and monitor HMI systems.
- Perform checks, calibration, and scheduled maintenance on plant floor equipment.
- Generate and prepare technical reports and maintain clerical records.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and facility safety protocols.
- Collaborate with Automation Technicians and management to complete assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Technical Degree Electrical Technology program.
- Experience reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, including redlining for updates.
- Experience wiring electrical control panels or equipment remote actuators.
- Experience with plumbing equipment, pneumatic, or hydraulic lines.
- Experience planning, selecting, testing, installing, and maintaining systems.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
