Automation Intern

About the role#

The Automation Intern works with the Automation Team on various projects and tasks within a dairy manufacturing environment. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial automation, with in-house training provided. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm.

What you'll do#

• Monitor automated systems using a computer.
• Troubleshoot automation systems using various PLC programs and monitor HMI systems.
• Perform checks, calibration, and scheduled maintenance on plant floor equipment.
• Generate and prepare technical reports and maintain clerical records.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and facility safety protocols.
• Collaborate with Automation Technicians and management to complete assignments.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Technical Degree Electrical Technology program.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, including redlining for updates.
• Experience wiring electrical control panels or equipment remote actuators.
• Experience with plumbing equipment, pneumatic, or hydraulic lines.
• Experience planning, selecting, testing, installing, and maintaining systems.
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
