EHS Intern

About the role#

The EHS Intern will assist in executing and facilitating the environmental health and safety program portfolio at Advanced Energy. The primary goal of this role is to support efforts to eliminate injuries and incidents, prevent property loss, and minimize impact to human health and the environment. This position involves ensuring employee awareness of safety programs, training, and overall regulatory compliance.

What you'll do#

• Assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining occupational health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Perform and review hazard assessments, including job hazard assessments and audits, in collaboration with business leaders.
• Participate in incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• Support the development and writing of procedures for the Corporate EHS management system, including ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.
• Utilize the EHS data management system to collect and manage incident, hazard, inspection, chemical SDS, and sustainability data.
• Help business partners with reporting incidents and near misses, and steward emergency action plans.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or recent graduation with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of safety culture development, hazard identification, and assessment techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and implement regulatory requirements.
