About the role#
Actian is seeking an SEO/AEO Intern to help shape how the company brand and products are discovered across traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven experiences. This role sits at the intersection of search, content, and AI, focusing on optimizing Actian.com for both search engine rankings and answer-based discovery in tools like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. This is a 12-week paid internship program beginning June 8, 2026, which includes a dedicated buddy, structured learning, and a final capstone project presented at an internship showcase.
What you'll do#
- Conduct a comprehensive SEO audit of Actian.com across key product areas.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve visibility in both traditional search and AI-driven answer engines.
- Optimize content for search engines through keywords, metadata, and internal linking, and for AI consumption through clear answers, structured content, and FAQs.
- Use tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms to analyze performance and report on traffic and rankings.
- Evaluate how company content appears in AI-generated results and summaries.
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to recommend content improvements and structural changes like schema and topic clusters.
- Experiment with AI tools to analyze content gaps, generate optimization ideas, and improve workflow efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a college degree program during the 12-week internship.
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of SEO principles.
- Strong analytical thinking and curiosity, with the ability to move quickly and iterate on ideas.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Physical location within the United States.

- This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.
- The program includes an opportunity to travel for onsite orientation at the Austin, Texas office.
