Design Intern

About the role#

As a Design Intern at Zero Studios, you will focus on honing your craft while developing thoughtful, original ideas that align with brand strategies. You will conceptualize the emotional intent behind brands and express that vision across various creative mediums, including brand identities, websites, and social platforms. This is a paid, full-time, 4-month role designed for professional development through real client work and mentorship from studio leadership.

What you'll do#

• Contribute to research and discovery phases through competitive audits and other value-add tactics.
• Develop effective designs and art direction that are unique to the market and genuine to a brand's vision.
• Collaborate with copywriters and developers on brand applications, including packaging, digital assets, and social media content.
• Work closely with Creative Leads to develop a systematic approach to design language across mediums.
• Approach projects with a clear purpose to ensure all executions meet business and user goals.

What you'll need#

• A portfolio that demonstrates design thinking and a strong grasp of design basics, including typography, color theory, and layout.
• Candidates must not be currently enrolled in an education program.
• Preferred academic backgrounds include Graphic Design, Art, Communications, Media Studies, or Marketing.

Location & details#

• This is an on-site role with studio locations in New York, Milwaukee, and Los Angeles.
• Staff are expected to work from these locations if they live within a reasonable distance.
• The position is paid at a rate of $2,916 per month.
• Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
