Manufacturing Engineering Process Improvement Technician Co-op

About the role#

Xylem is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Process Improvement Technician Co-op to support the transition of manufacturing processes to a standard format. This role involves working closely with R&D, operations, quality, and project management teams to evaluate production needs, identify constraints, and improve overall work cell efficiency.

What you'll do#

• Participate in meetings and reviews for existing products.
• Evaluate fixtures, equipment, and tools to determine necessary improvements or replacements.
• Read and translate mechanical drawings for designs.
• Create processes and test plans aligned with standard YSI formats.
• Manage label design, documentation, and implementation.
• Assist with production process issues and communicate constraints to relevant stakeholders.
• Evaluate work cells to align equipment and capacity for optimal efficiency.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in a post-secondary University diploma program in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to explain technical terminology to non-technical personnel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to lift equipment, tools, and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Working knowledge of computers and networking is desirable.
