    About the role#

    Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Norfolk, Virginia. You will work with the development team to design, build, and deploy software applications.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop front-end user interfaces using React, Redux, and modern JavaScript libraries.
    • Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot.
    • Collaborate with the back-end team to integrate front-end and back-end components.
    • Work with product management to understand requirements and implement new features.
    • Contribute to the development of automated tests and deployment scripts.
    • Participate in code reviews to improve overall code quality.
    • Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by QA or customers.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in React, JavaScript, and Java.
    • Experience with the Java Spring Boot framework.
    • Familiarity with RESTful API design principles, modern front-end build tools, and agile methodologies.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
    • Must meet I-9 work authorization requirements.
