About the role#
Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Norfolk, Virginia. You will work with the development team to design, build, and deploy software applications.
What you'll do#
- Develop front-end user interfaces using React, Redux, and modern JavaScript libraries.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with the back-end team to integrate front-end and back-end components.
- Work with product management to understand requirements and implement new features.
- Contribute to the development of automated tests and deployment scripts.
- Participate in code reviews to improve overall code quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by QA or customers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in React, JavaScript, and Java.
- Experience with the Java Spring Boot framework.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design principles, modern front-end build tools, and agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must meet I-9 work authorization requirements.
