The Co-op Consultant serves as a primary liaison between students, employers, and the university. Working out of the Milton campus, this role focuses on managing an assigned geographic territory to develop, coordinate, and monitor career-related work opportunities for co-op students. This position requires an autonomous professional who can build relationships with employers while supporting the educational and professional growth of students.
What you'll do#
- Conduct approximately 350-400 visits annually to develop and monitor work opportunities for co-op students.
- Manage the recruiting process, including advising employers on ethical recruiting strategies.
- Interview and select students for admission to competitive co-op programs.
- Develop marketing plans to promote students from Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, and Communications programs.
- Monitor the quality of positions and evaluate student performance throughout their work terms.
- Provide mediation and guidance to both students and employers to resolve workplace issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support departmental policies and student success.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree.
- Three years of related experience in job development, employment advising, or sales and marketing.
- Comprehensive understanding of the current employment market and job search techniques.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to support a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
