About the role#
West End Strategy Team is seeking a part-time paid intern for the fall 2026 term. This role offers hands-on experience in strategic communications, focusing on social justice, racial and gender equity, and human rights. Interns will gain exposure to the operations of political and advocacy organizations while developing a professional understanding of the media landscape.
What you'll do#
- Write and edit materials for media distribution.
- Draft opinion pieces and develop social media content.
- Research client organizations, issue areas, and target journalists.
- Compile media lists and conduct media outreach.
- Aggregate news content and assist with clerical duties.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student status.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Effective research capabilities.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
- Demonstrated interest in political and advocacy organizations.

Location & details#
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Modality: Hybrid (at least one day per week in the office, preferably Tuesday or Wednesday).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September through December).
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
