Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is seeking graduate-level interns for the Summer and Fall 2026 terms to join our community-based services team in Waltham. Interns are fully integrated into our clinical team, receiving support through individual and group supervision, training, and professional development opportunities. This role involves intensive, strengths-based work with youth and families in their homes and communities.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, couples, and family therapy in community and home-based settings.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop goal-oriented treatment plans.
- Co-facilitate activity-based groups for youth in partnership with the Department of Mental Health.
- Participate in agency-wide initiatives and clinical team meetings.
- Provide case management, advocacy, and support for client needs, including transportation to appointments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a graduate program related to Psychology, Nursing, Public Health, or Human Resources. Final-year students are preferred.
- A valid driver’s license, a reliable car, and permission from your academic institution to transport clients.
- Flexibility to manage a schedule that includes at least two evenings per week and attendance on Tuesdays.
- Ability to work both autonomously in the community and collaboratively within a clinical team.
Location & details#
- Location: Waltham, Massachusetts (with service delivery in the surrounding regions).
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Minimum of 24 hours per week for final-year interns; 20 hours per week for first-year interns.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
