Marketing Communications Intern

About the role#

The Marketing Communications Intern at WaterFurnace International supports the event planning and communications teams. This role provides hands-on experience in event execution, content development, and marketing operations. The position is intended to be a long-term commitment, with a preference for candidates who can stay for at least 6 months.

What you'll do#

• Support the planning and execution of tradeshows, sales meetings, training events, and internal meetings.
• Assist with event logistics, including load-in/load-out, setup/teardown, procurement of materials, A/V coordination, and vendor support.
• Prepare attendee materials such as badges, agendas, and welcome packets.
• Document processes, workflows, and event planning best practices for team use.
• Assist with pre-event communications, including logistics emails and reminders.
• Manage event inventory, assets, and warehousing organization.
• Create and support marketing content across digital platforms, including email, web, and social media.
• Collaborate with the design team and subject matter experts to align messaging, branding, and visuals.
• Support project management initiatives through research, reporting, and task tracking.
• Assist with digital event tools, AI-related initiatives, and data compilation for email and surveys.
• Maintain media lists and digitize archival materials.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, Business Administration, Journalism, Media Studies, Psychology, or a related field.
• Availability to work 20+ hours per week is highly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
