Full Time Student Transportation Dispatcher

About the role#

The Student Transportation Dispatcher reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for coordinating driver dispatch operations. This role ensures the accuracy of route instructions, supports incident reporting, and maintains operational standards. You will use regional knowledge to recommend efficient routing solutions while ensuring that all school routes are covered and students are accounted for.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate and assist with school routes to ensure timely service.
• Communicate with drivers, monitors, and supervisors to resolve on-the-road issues.
• Track vehicle locations and relay updates to drivers.
• Manage and assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including absences and delays.
• Handle incoming calls and inquiries related to school transportation.
• Cover school routes when all other options are exhausted and assist with vehicles experiencing mechanical issues.
• Manage and pull reports as directed by the Dispatch Supervisor.

What you'll need#

• Dispatch experience within the transportation or service industry, or related education in Logistics, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
• Proficiency in utilizing a radio for effective communication.
• Excellent time and stress management skills with the ability to multitask.
• Superior customer service skills and the ability to follow procedures to meet legal and corporate obligations.
• Computer literacy with experience in MS Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Intermediate to advanced verbal and written language skills (B2 to C1 levels).

Location & details#

• Location: 573 Admiral Court, London, Ontario.
• Work Modality: 100% On-site.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
• Compensation: $22.00 per hour, increasing to $23.00 upon successful completion of a B Class license upgrade (training costs covered by the company).
