About the role#
Vinmar Recycling Solutions is seeking a Lab Technician Intern to support laboratory operations in Baytown, Texas. This position provides hands-on exposure to plastics testing, recycling processes, and laboratory best practices. The intern will work directly with the Lab Technician to assist with polymer testing and quality control.
What you'll do#
- Perform laboratory testing on incoming materials, in-process samples, and finished recycled plastic products.
- Prepare and condition samples according to standardized lab procedures.
- Operate basic laboratory equipment under supervision, such as melt index and density testing instruments.
- Record and organize test data for review by the Lab Technician and Quality team.
- Assist with blown film testing, product evaluation, equipment calibration, and general lab upkeep.
- Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on ongoing lab projects and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in laboratory work, plastics, or sustainability and recycling.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to follow technical instructions and procedures.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a preference for Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

- Location: Baytown, Texas.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (flexibility available based on school schedule).
- Work Modality: On-site.
