Vertical Semiconductor is seeking a Commercial and Strategy Intern/Co-Op to support commercial engagement within the data center market and assist with company operations. This role sits at the intersection of market development, customer engagement, and strategic operations. You will work closely with leadership, engineering, and business teams to deepen the company's understanding of data center power architectures, customer requirements, and market dynamics while managing day-to-day operational tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support analysis of data center power architectures, including AI training clusters and high-density compute environments.
- Research and map target customers across hyperscalers, colocation providers, and OEMs.
- Conduct targeted commercial outreach to establish and develop relationships with data center operators and strategic partners.
- Develop customer-facing materials tailored to data center applications.
- Track market signals, partnership discussions, and competitive developments within the data center ecosystem.
- Synthesize technical and commercial inputs into structured insights for leadership.
- Maintain customer pipelines and internal project trackers.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, customer visits, and conferences.
- Support vendor, supplier, and shipping coordination.
- Track deadlines and action items across funding, partnerships, and compliance requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current Bachelor’s (junior or senior) or Master’s student in business administration, engineering, physics, economics, or a related field.
- Prior related internship experience, with a preference for experience in a startup environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort working with quantitative data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear, structured presentations.
- Strong interest in data center infrastructure, AI hardware, power electronics, or deep-tech commercialization.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship based on-site in Somerville, Massachusetts.
- The term runs from late August through December 2026, with flexibility to accommodate academic calendars.
