About the role#
The Associate Director, Student Care Services provides oversight and non-clinical case management for students facing mental health crises. This role focuses on supporting students to manage personal crises and barriers that impede their success and well-being. The position involves coordinating referrals, facilitating follow-up after crises, and ensuring the safety of the university community while balancing the needs of individual students. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Orlando, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Provide non-clinical case management and triage student reports related to mental health and well-being.
- Serve on the Student of Concern Team and the University Crisis Team to collaborate on action plans.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with Counseling and Psychological Services, UCF PD, and other campus and community partners.
- Oversee the mandated assessment process for students returning from involuntary hospitalization or medical leave.
- Assist students with setting goals and creating customized action plans to connect them with academic, career, health, and financial resources.
- Lead training for faculty and staff on supporting students in distress and mental health trends.
- Manage confidential student records in compliance with university policies and relevant state and federal laws.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 1+ year of leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of laws and guidance including FERPA, HIPAA, and Title IX.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and solve complex problems.
