The Technical Sales Specialist intern will assist in the development and execution of annual sales plans for specialty chemicals used in natural gas processing, including heat transfer fluids, molecular sieves, silica gels, activated alumina, specialty adsorbents, and selective amines. This role supports sales territories across Alberta and British Columbia and reports to the Technical Sales Manager.
What you'll do#
- Provide product support, system optimizations, and troubleshooting while managing customer inquiries in collaboration with Account Managers, Customer Service, and Sales Management.
- Collaborate with specialty chemical suppliers on product and application development.
- Track and trend customer sample data and follow up on technical recommendations.
- Prepare customer value-add service reports and ensure internal KPIs are met.
- Oversee technical literature and provide training to the internal sales team to increase technical competence in natural gas processing.
- Organize and lead customer training seminars and identify opportunities with local engineering firms.
- Submit weekly activity reports to the Technical Sales Manager.
What you'll need#
- Post-secondary training in chemical science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or petroleum engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to relate to individuals at all levels.
- A competitive and creative mindset with the ability to motivate and delegate.
- 2-3 years of experience in technical sales is preferred, though not required.

- Modality: On-site, with potential field travel required within Alberta and British Columbia.
