About the role#
The Strength & Conditioning Internship is a 12-week program designed for students to gain hands-on experience in the training of elite combat athletes. Interns participate in an educational curriculum covering strength and conditioning principles, including programming, periodization strategies, energy system development, and testing evaluation. The program concludes with a case study presentation.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Strength & Conditioning team with physical training tasks, including planning and preparation.
- Implement monitoring and assessment interventions as requested.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the weight room environment.
- Collaborate in an inter-disciplinary capacity with other technical areas as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant academic program, such as Kinesiology, Biomedical Sciences, Health Administration, Nursing, or Public Health.
- Possession of, or progress toward, a CSCS, CSCCA, or other internationally recognized certification.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently to achieve assigned goals.
- A strong desire to work with elite combat athletes; experience with weight-categorized sports is desired.
