About the role#
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding operations, and organizational culture initiatives. Interns will work in a professional environment and have access to development opportunities, including networking with senior executives and skill-building workshops.
What you'll do#
- Assist with job postings, candidate sourcing, and resume screening.
- Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications.
- Support new hire onboarding processes, including preparing materials and tracking the completion of required forms.
- Help maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment reports.
- Collaborate on initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.
- Assist with benefits-related communications and administrative tasks.
- Participate in special HR projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or graduate program, or recent graduation within the past six months, in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
- Previous internship or relevant experience in HR is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with familiarity in HR systems considered a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, D.C.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14 through November 20).
- Modality: Hybrid (expected to be in the office at least two days per week).
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid, $19.00 to $20.00 per hour.
