The HR Professional Intern supports the HR team across recruiting, retention, employee relations, benefits, policy development, and regulatory compliance. This role involves assisting with company-wide training and development programs while gaining exposure to federal contracting standards. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and resolve HR-related issues.
- Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to meet staffing needs.
- Create, evaluate, and conduct training programs for hiring managers.
- Prepare and submit reporting data to regulatory agencies.
- Participate in the annual open enrollment process.
- Support compliance with the Service Contract Act and prevailing wage requirements.
- Compile wage and benefit data and assist with Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations.
- Monitor HR statistics and metrics to implement process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Human Resources or a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Pursuing an aPHR or PHR certification.
- Preferred: Experience with HR and Workforce Management software, such as UKG.
- Preferred: Experience with Federal Contracting or the Service Contract Act (SCA).

- Travel: Occasional travel to contract sites in 9 states is required.
