Software Engineering Intern (Part-Time, Internal Tooling)

About the role#

Traackr is seeking a part-time Software Engineering Intern to focus on internal tooling initiatives. This role is dedicated to improving the reliability, visibility, and operational efficiency of the platform by building and enhancing internal services and automation tools used by engineering and support teams.

What you'll do#

• Improve the reliability and correctness of social platform integrations, including data quality fixes.
• Expand and validate data ingestion to support additional attributes.
• Automate ingestion workflows and implement monitoring for failures.
• Build API endpoints to support internal services.
• Develop internal tools and simple UIs to improve data access and visibility.
• Identify and track key user actions across services.
• Contribute to the monitoring, alerting, and automation of system health.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, or Kotlin.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin is preferred.
• A basic understanding of web development concepts, including APIs, client-server architecture, and databases.
• Familiarity with core HTTP concepts, including requests, responses, and status codes.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL concepts, observability tools, and debugging.
• The ability to learn new technologies quickly and contribute to an existing codebase.
• Relevant majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or Mathematics.

Location & details#

• This position is 100% remote, though occasional in-person attendance may be required for trainings, meetings, and team gatherings.
• This is a paid, part-time internship with a rolling term.
