The Instructional Design Intern supports the development and delivery of technology-enhanced learning experiences within a medical and clinical education environment. You will collaborate with information technology staff, faculty, and clinical educators to enhance online, hybrid, and in-person learning through the effective use of instructional design best practices and multimedia tools. This role focuses on improving digital course delivery and creating engaging, accessible learning materials.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing digital learning materials such as modules, presentations, and interactive content.
- Support faculty in organizing and optimizing courses within the Canvas platform.
- Develop user guides, tutorials, and training resources for faculty and students.
- Assist with multimedia production tasks, including video recording, editing, and captioning.
- Support accessibility efforts to ensure materials are ADA-compliant.
- Evaluate and test instructional technologies and tools used in academic and clinical education.
- Provide basic technical support for instructional platforms and classroom tools.
- Collaborate on projects related to hybrid and online learning, including course redesign and digital engagement strategies.
What you'll need#
- A Master's Degree in Instructional Technology, Information Systems, or Educational Technology.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms such as Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, or Adobe Connect.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG and captioning best practices.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is preferred.
- Ability to solve complex problems, meet deadlines, and develop cooperative relationships with students and faculty is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York (Local to the Podiatry campus).
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
