Accounting Intern

About the role#

The McGuire Group is seeking an Accounting Intern to join the Corporate Finance team in Cheektowaga, NY. This part-time position offers 15–20 hours per week, providing an opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional healthcare environment while completing your degree.

What you'll do#

• Compile, prepare, and transmit bank deposits.
• Compile and import fixed asset data files while maintaining fixed asset ledgers.
• Maintain the cash management file and daily banking transactions.
• Assist with preparing financial reports, accounting records, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Gather documentation and coordinate responses for financial statement and New York State OMIG audits.
• Assist with ad hoc financial reports, analyses, and special projects as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with at least two years of college coursework completed.
• Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

• Location: Corporate Office, Cheektowaga, New York.
• Schedule: Part-time, 15–20 hours per week.
• Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
• Term: Rolling.
