Community Affairs Intern

About the role#

Texas Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an intern to support the Community Affairs program. This role offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in corporate citizenship while contributing to the company's philanthropic mission and community impact.

What you'll do#

• Learn about Texas Mutual’s community partnerships and the importance of corporate citizenship.
• Participate in the grant-making process and assist with tasks related to event sponsorship commitments.
• Use online platforms to track volunteering and charitable giving activities.
• Conduct research projects on Community Affairs topics.
• Collaborate with partners to support philanthropic initiatives.
• Attend in-person events as a representative of Texas Mutual.
• Participate in division meetings and training sessions.
• Complete various tasks and projects as assigned by the department.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience.
• Interest in fields such as non-profit relations, charitable giving, corporate communications, grant-making, sponsorship management, public relations, or community partnerships.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Academic background in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Health, or Political Science is preferred.

• Location: Austin, Texas (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Compensation: $26.00 per hour.
• Employment type: Part-time (20 hours per week).
