Platform Software Engineering Intern

About the role#

Tempo Innovations is seeking a Platform Software Engineering Intern to contribute to the development of our next-generation IoT infrastructure. You will work alongside senior engineers to build a full-stack edge development model, focusing on the bringup of custom hardware and the establishment of secure, resilient cloud connectivity for command, control, and telemetry data. This role requires a methodical approach to ensuring system reliability through rigorous verification and automated testing.

What you'll do#

• Design, construct, and execute verification and test cases to ensure the operational integrity of edge devices and cloud integrations.
• Develop test suites focused on negative testing, fault injection, and error handling to identify system vulnerabilities.
• Conduct thorough coverage analysis to guarantee functional completion of project requirements.
• Implement and automate tests using Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) regression frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on full-stack edge development, gaining exposure to hardware bringup and cloud telemetry pipelines.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in at least one core programming language: C, Python, Rust, or Go.
• Solid foundational understanding of software testing methodologies, specifically automated testing and regression frameworks.
• Basic familiarity with Linux operating system administration and command-line interfaces.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
