Summer Project College Intern

About the role#

Temp-Con, LLC is seeking a Summer Project College Intern to support project management operations within the HVAC and refrigeration equipment manufacturing industry. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Shawnee, Kansas, for the Summer 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Assist project managers in ensuring all project requirements and timelines are met.
• Track submittals, generate purchase orders, and assist with negotiating subcontracts and purchases.
• Communicate and troubleshoot project issues with project managers, superintendents, construction managers, and general contractors.
• Attend weekly job-site visits and project management meetings.
• Generate project manager reports and assist with job setup, contract reviews, and the coordination of manpower and equipment.
• Review job costs, status reports, and change orders to analyze project profitability.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Excellent math, computer, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, along with knowledge of HVAC and piping installation and general accounting, are considered pluses.
• Physical ability to walk job sites and climb ladders.
• A valid driver's license.
