Teledyne FLIR is seeking an 8-month Firmware Test Co-op student to join our testing team in Richmond, BC. This full-time, on-site role focuses on embedded systems within our machine vision digital camera division. You will work directly on-site where our cameras are designed and manufactured.
What you'll do#
- Implement design verification tests to identify complex firmware issues.
- Troubleshoot interactions between hardware, firmware, and software.
- Execute automated tests to verify camera functionality.
- Design and implement improvements to testing processes and infrastructure.
- Build, test, and release new firmware.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your third or fourth year of Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency in C++ and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Preferred: Knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash), experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscope, multimeter), familiarity with communication protocols (USB, Ethernet), and image processing experience.

- Compensation: This is a paid position with a salary range of $38,700 to $51,600. Final compensation is determined based on factors including education, experience, and skills.
