Project Management Intern

About the role#

As a Project Management Intern at Tecta America, you will support the roofing, architectural metals, or mechanical departments. You will assist in daily operations and project management tasks that directly impact project profitability and the company's reputation. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Mankato, Minnesota.

What you'll do#

• Assist in developing and tracking sales leads and promoting department services.
• Oversee and direct efforts related to production and quality control.
• Manage projects to ensure they meet targeted schedules and cost requirements.
• Estimate job costs and prepare proposals for review.
• Handle material purchasing, inventory analysis, and inventory control.
• Manage project billing, approve invoices, and coordinate payroll and timecards.
• Resolve client disputes and address customer requests or complaints.
• Coordinate with prime and subcontractors regarding schedules, change orders, and submittals.
• Review purchase orders and contracts to ensure they align with company policy and project scope.
• Conduct roof inspections and surveys, which requires the ability to climb extension ladders.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Project Estimating software.
• Strong interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, business correspondence, and memos.
• Capability to calculate figures such as discounts and interest, and apply concepts of algebra and geometry.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, and balancing.
