About the role#
The Accounting Intern at Team JAS will gain hands-on experience in a professional aviation and aerospace component manufacturing environment. This paid, part-time internship is designed for students seeking practical exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Participants will work under the mentorship of accounting professionals to develop skills in financial systems and accounting operations.
What you'll do#
- Support the accounting team and collaborate with accounting clerks on daily operations.
- Review incoming vendor invoices and research discrepancies to process payments.
- Code expenses to proper accounts and cost departments by analyzing invoices, expense reports, and receipts.
- Compare purchase orders, prices, and payment terms against charges.
- Reconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors regarding remittance reports, missing invoices, and credit memos.
- Prepare check runs and enter cash receipts while applying payments to customer invoices.
- Assist with bank deposits and customer communication regarding past due accounts.
- Generate and review daily and monthly reports, including AP and AR aging.
- Monitor accounting emails and assist with account analysis, reconciliation, and month-end close activities.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in accounting with junior-level standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality.

- Location: Jacksonville, Florida (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (mid-August through December 31, 2026).
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week.
