About the role#
The Engineering Intern will support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of engineering tools, including product development systems, design tools, and bespoke testing software. This role provides hands-on experience with business systems that support design, configuration, data analysis, and workflow efficiency. You will work alongside design engineers, mechanical integrity analysts, and developers to deliver reliable solutions.
What you'll do#
- Implement enhancements, bug fixes, and minor feature updates based on business requirements and user feedback.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Commercial Excellence, and IT departments to understand tool usage and functional needs.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of tools to ensure quality and reliability.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and user instructions for supported tools.
- Analyze issues reported by users and assist in troubleshooting and resolution.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Programming experience in one or more languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
- Understanding of databases and data concepts, specifically SQL and relational data structures.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
