Under the supervision of the Senior Certification Engineer, the Electrical Engineer Intern will join the R&D team to support the development and electrical certification of new products. This role focuses on ensuring products meet electrical and electromagnetic standards.
What you'll do#
- Develop test benches to support electrical and electromagnetic qualification and certification activities for STERIS Canada ULC products according to current standards.
- Analyze, design, and build instrumentation for electrical safety, electromagnetic emissions, and immunity testing.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes, procedures, and work practices to facilitate successful project certification.
- Write test plans, procedures, laboratory notebooks, protocols, and reports.
- Support the product development team on various electrical projects related to washer-disinfectors.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives regarding electrical certification.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, having completed the 2nd or 3rd year.
- Understanding of electrical machine hardware, including wiring, connectors, mechanical packaging, thermal considerations, and power management.
- Fluency in French and intermediate proficiency in English.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and rigor.
