IT Internship

About the role#

As an IT Intern at Stax Payments, you will gain hands-on experience managing the full lifecycle of enterprise hardware within a fintech environment. You will work directly with the IT team to support infrastructure operations, including device deployment, decommissioning, and hardware maintenance, while gaining exposure to IT workflows compliant with SOC 2 and PCI-DSS standards.

What you'll do#

• Manage MacBook deployment for new hires and refresh cycles, including unboxing, physical setup, and software installation.
• Coordinate shipping for remote employees and prepare desk pickups for local staff.
• Handle MacBook decommissioning, including logging returned assets, removing Apple IDs, clearing MDM profiles, and erasing devices for redeployment or disposal.
• Manage the lifecycle of IT support tickets by performing initial triage and troubleshooting to meet established SLAs.
• Maintain hardware and peripherals in conference rooms, common areas, and individual desks.
• Support the deployment of internal software and applications while maintaining data hygiene in asset management and ticketing systems.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Working familiarity with macOS; Windows experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented mindset with the discipline to follow multi-step standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter after training.
• Proficiency with standard business software such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift and relocate computer equipment up to 60 lbs.
• Familiarity with terminal/shell commands, scripting, or enterprise AI tooling is considered a plus.

Location & details#

• This is a part-time, on-site internship based in Orlando, Florida.
• The role requires 16–20 hours per week.
• This position is paid.
