About the role#
The Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission is hiring for Student Professional/Technical Worker positions to serve as Minor Decoys. This role supports the agency in ensuring that retail licensees comply with state laws regarding the sale of alcohol and recreational marijuana to individuals under the age of 21. This is a part-time, hourly position performed on an as-needed basis during the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Visit retail locations to attempt the purchase of alcohol and recreational marijuana products.
- Work alongside Regulatory Specialists, law enforcement, or special interest groups to conduct compliance checks.
- Present valid identification and provide accurate information regarding your age when requested by clerks.
- Document all visits and findings in detailed narrative reports, including attaching relevant receipts and documentation.
- Prepare materials for contested case hearings and provide testimony on behalf of the Commission at administrative law hearings or in criminal court.
What you'll need#
- Must be between 18 and 20 years of age at the time of hire.
- Must be a high school student or a college student currently enrolled in a field of specialization, such as Criminal Justice, Public Health, or Business Administration.
- Ability to communicate clearly and document findings in writing.
