About the role#
The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics is seeking a Senior Undergraduate Intern to work from our office in downtown Oklahoma City. This position offers exposure to state aviation operations, system planning, and project management while working alongside the Airport Division.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Airport Division with airport and pavement inspections.
- Contribute to statewide system planning efforts.
- Support various ongoing airport projects.
- Participate in aero education, outreach, advocacy, and special events.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including operating personal computers and utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
- Organize, compile, and record information accurately.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in an undergraduate aviation-related degree program, specifically Aerospace Engineering.
- A minimum 2.75 overall retention GPA and a 3.00 major retention GPA.
- Ability to work 15 to 20 hours per week during regular office hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
- Preference is given to candidates who can commit to at least one full 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. workday.
- Ability to work effectively both in an office setting and in the field.
- Strong communication skills for phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Ability to work well with others and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Must provide personal transportation to and from the downtown Oklahoma City office.
