About the role#
Starwood Capital Group is seeking an intern to join the finance team in Greenwich, Connecticut, for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience in accounting and finance functions, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position requiring at least 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Review and process incoming invoices for payment while ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial documentation.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and other financial records, including investigating discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Compile and analyze financial data to support decision-making and audit preparation.
- Participate in the month-end close process through data entry and account analysis.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects, analyses, and exposure to payroll processes.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in accounting software considered a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
